Former White House Chief of Staff Surrenders in Atlanta

Compelling Headline: "Trump's Right-Hand Man, Mark Meadows, Indicted in Georgia Racketeering Case"

Mark Meadows, the former chief of staff to former President Donald Trump, has been charged in a sprawling racketeering indictment led by Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis. Meadows, along with 18 other individuals, is accused of interfering in the 2020 election by attempting to pressure state officials to overturn the results.

On Wednesday, Meadows surrendered to authorities at the Fulton County Jail. A federal judge had previously rejected his attempt to move the case from state court. The indictment alleges that Meadows and the other defendants, including Trump attorneys Rudy Giuliani and John Eastman, engaged in a multi-state conspiracy to overturn the election.

Meadows has been a key figure in the investigation into the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. He has testified multiple times before the House Select Committee investigating the insurrection. In recent months, Meadows has also provided information to Special Counsel Jack Smith, who is leading the Justice Department's investigation into Trump's efforts to overturn the election.
