Dallas Mavericks: News and Roster Updates

2023-24 Season Outlook

With the NBA season rapidly approaching, the Dallas Mavericks are gearing up for an exciting 2023-24 campaign. After a disappointing finish last season, the Mavericks are determined to make a strong return and contend for a playoff spot.

Roster Additions and Departures

The Mavericks have made several significant roster moves this offseason, including the acquisition of Kyrie Irving from the Brooklyn Nets. Irving, a seven-time NBA All-Star and former NBA champion, is expected to play a major role alongside Luka Dončić in the Mavericks' backcourt.

In addition to Irving, the Mavericks have signed veteran big man JaVale McGee and traded for center Christian Wood. These moves add depth and experience to the frontcourt, which was a weakness for the team last season.

However, the Mavericks also lost several key players in free agency, including Jalen Brunson, Maxi Kleber, and Dorian Finney-Smith. These departures leave some holes to fill, but the Mavericks are confident that they have the talent to overcome them.

Preseason Schedule

The Mavericks begin their preseason schedule on October 3rd with a game against the Utah Jazz. They will play a total of four preseason games before the regular season begins on October 19th.

The preseason schedule will give the Mavericks a chance to gel as a team and experiment with different lineups. It will also provide an opportunity for the coaching staff to evaluate the team's progress and make adjustments as needed.
