MSI 2024: First Cross-Regional Competition of the Year

Tournament Format and Schedule

The 2024 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) will be held between the first and second splits of all regions except EMEA. The tournament will feature 12 teams from around the world, competing for a share of the $250,000 prize pool. The tournament will be played in a double-elimination bracket format, with the top two teams from each group advancing to the playoffs. The playoffs will be played in a single-elimination bracket format, with the winner of the tournament crowned MSI champion.

Picks and Bans

Unlike previous iterations of MSI, the 2024 tournament will feature a unique pick and ban system. Each team will be allowed to ban five champions, and the remaining champions will be available for both teams to pick from. This system is designed to create a more diverse and exciting meta, and to give teams a chance to showcase their unique strategies.
