NBCC's Profit Jumps 245% in Q4 FY23

Market Volatility Boosts PSUs' Performance

The volatility in the market has led to a surge in the revenue and profit of Navratna PSUs. These state-owned enterprises have witnessed a 385% increase in their profits over the last fiscal year, resulting in a 255% return on sales.

In the fourth quarter of fiscal year 2023-24, NBCC, one of the largest public sector construction companies in the country, reported a whopping 245% growth in its profit. This impressive performance was attributed to the company's acquisition of two large orders worth Rs 720 crore.

Other Navratna PSUs have also benefited from the market volatility. ONGC, a public sector oil and gas company, reported a remarkable profit growth of 275% return on sales in the first quarter of fiscal year 2025.

In the private sector, banking giant ICICI Bank is set to announce its third quarter results. The bank is expected to report another strong performance, fueled by increased loan growth and strong fee income.
