Matt LaFleur's Early Life and Football Career

Matthew James LaFleur (born November 14, 1979) is an American football coach who is the head coach of the Green Bay Packers of the National Football League (NFL). Before becoming the Packers' head coach, LaFleur spent four seasons as the offensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams. LaFleur's coaching career began in 1999 at Saginaw Valley State University, his alma mater. He worked his way up through the college ranks before joining the NFL in 2014 as an offensive assistant for the Washington Redskins.

LaFleur's Success with the Packers

In 2019, LaFleur was hired as the head coach of the Packers. In his first season, he led the team to a 13-3 record and a berth in the NFC Championship Game. In 2020, the Packers finished 13-3 again and won the NFC North division. They earned the No. 1 seed in the NFC playoffs and advanced to the NFC Divisional Round, where they lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Coaching Philosophy and Personal Life

LaFleur is a proponent of the outside zone running scheme and the play-action passing game. He is also known for his ability to develop quarterbacks. Under his leadership, Aaron Rodgers has enjoyed a resurgence in his career, winning back-to-back NFL MVP awards in 2020 and 2021.

LaFleur is married to Jenny. Together, they have three children: Luke, Ty, and Eva.
